The pleasures of the holiday come down to what you’re doing and who you’re with.
Bring your family to Fort Myers & Sanibel and we’ll take care of the rest with holiday events that are sure to delight.
EDISON & FORD HOLIDAY NIGHTS – FORT MYERS
The beloved winter estates of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford receive special treatment during the holidays. The homes, gardens and buildings are adorned with traditional decorations and thousands of twinkling lightbulbs, an appropriate honor for Edison. Special events include guided tours, celebrations with Santa and even a visit from Thomas Edison and Henry Ford themselves.
ANNUAL HOLIDAY STROLL – SANIBEL & CAPTIVA ISLANDS
This community-wide display is one of the most beautiful nights of the year for the annual Holiday Stroll. Just before dusk, volunteers line the entire length of Periwinkle Way with candle-lit lanterns. Decorated storefronts open their doors for music, activities, Santa visits and more. Some visitors book hotel reservations especially for this event – you won’t want to miss it.
HOLIDAY POPS! – MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
Climb into your imaginary sleigh as we celebrate the sounds of Christmas in Paradise! Join the professional orchestra, guest conductor Dr. Trent Brown, and the entire Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida for the Holiday Pops series.
Featuring music from The Nutcracker, Home Alone, and for anyone who ever lived “up north”, a song or two about falling snow (but you definitely won’t need a shovel!).
THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE AT THE SHELL FACTORY – NORTH FORT MYERS
It’s always Christmas at the Shell Factory. The store has an entire holiday-themed section that stays open year-round. Featuring a large set of souvenirs, the company claims to be Southwest Florida’s biggest collection of Christmas gifts. Ornaments alone number in the thousands and you’re certain to find something just for you.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND BOAT PARADES – MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
Boat parades are a special part of island life and each event can feature dozens of boats of all size decked in lights, from dinghies to yachts. Music, food and crafts often accompany the show of lights. The lights are on land too, of course! The historic Burroughs and Langford Kingston Homes are a sight to see in the wintertime, as is the iconic Sanibel lighthouse decked out in holiday decor.
A SLEIGH-FULL OF SANTA ACTIVITIES – MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
It wouldn’t be the holidays without Santa. And there’s a slew of events featuring the big man himself. Santa’s Block Party in Downtown Fort Myers has a ton of arts, crafts and games. And there’s even a dolphin and wildlife cruise on Christmas Eve with St. Nick on board. Check out our events page for more activities that will bring joy to your holidays.
